Friends of the Crisis Nurseries

Established in 1998, the Friends of the Crisis Nurseries auxiliary is dedicated to the financial security of (and community support for) our Crisis Nursery. Its members have volunteered countless hours to ensure infants and children up to age five have a safe place to stay when their parents or caregivers are experiencing a crisis. The members of Friends of the Crisis Nurseries work to raise funds, increase awareness, and bring new volunteers to the Crisis Nursery.

The primary function of the Friends is to sustain the Crisis Nursery through:

  • Membership dues
  • Coordinating special events like the annual FCN Fall Festival and two Gifting Grandmas’ Luncheons in the Spring and Fall
  • Raising public awareness

Gifting Grandmas

Recognizing that grandmothers have so many gifts to give — time, love, understanding — Friends of the Crisis Nurseries offers a very special category of membership. Twice a year, Gifting Grandmas gather for a fundraising event which typically includes a high-profile, themed luncheon. If you want to impact the lives of children in our community, this membership is a great way to do it! To help ensure the financial security of the Crisis Nursery, Gifting Grandmas members pledge $200 per year or more, submitted on a schedule determined by each member.
